WHITE BUTTON-UPS
LINA BARENGOLTS PHOTOGRAPHY :
I've collaborated with Lina quite a bit – after all, she is one of my best friends. We met at MCAD (Minneapolis College of Art + Design) and instantly connected after realizing how similar we are.
Whether it be for school projects or blogging, we've done many photoshoots together so we're comfortable working together and we have a blast shooting (with occasional random dance parties).
Something we have in common is our love for style and fashion so it'd be a shame if I didn't share what she was wearing to this particular shoot. Side note : I made her pause so I could run and grab my camera to take this.
LOCATION :
If you live in the Twin Cities and haven't been to the Como Zoo + Conservatory you should. It's by far one of my favorite places to hang out and photograph. The conservatory in particular is my little dream world – plants and architecture (organic + geometric = perfection). For this shoot we just shot outside of the conservatory, but obviously explored the whole park.
OUTFIT :
Chances are if you see me this summer, I'll be in bluejeans and a white button-up shirt or blouse. Minimal + easy to dress up or down. This one in particular is my favorite this summer because of the detail. It's actually meant to be a fitted shirt, but shirts that are not my size at all seem to be my thing right now..?!
Pointed flats. Can I just express how happy I am that these are in style? I probably have one too many pairs of these shoes right now, but I'm so okay with that...and still buying more. In my opinion, pointed flats are a little more feminine looking and give a dressier look, if that makes sense at all. I'm not one to wear flats, but now that these are in I can't live without them. What can I say, I'm in love.
What I love about this hat is the fact that it's a little smaller. I love hats as accessories (as some of you may know from my hat wall in my apartment), but most of the time they're too big for everyday activities that don't involve being at the beach. The flat top is something I love about this one too – it's a little different.
Besides jewelry, all of my outfit consists of Banana Republic and Gap. I will forever be in love with Gap jeans because they fit so perfectly and comfortably. I normally go with a more neutral wash when it comes to jeans but I figured I'd branch out in wearing a little more color (lol). I found my hat, shoes, and shirt at Banana.
SUMMER ACCESSORIES :
These are my two must-haves for summer. Sunglasses (obvi) from Old Navy (and cheap because I always break or lose them sunglasses). Also, I don't believe in buying expensive sunglasses if you want to follow the trends every summer (but that's not to say that some aren't always in style.. I still treasure my Coach aviators from a few years ago).
My new Banana envelope clutch is my new favorite thing. Many jokes have been made about this clutch already, but I think its the cutest. Plus it holds everything I need for a night out (phone, keys, id, $$, and lipstick).
MAKEUP :
Eyes - green smokey eye with The Power Neutrals palette, winged liner with Lash Domination Ink Liner and Lash Domination Mascara from Bare Minerals.
Blush - Coppertone from Mac
Contour - 40 Mirage Filter from Marc Jacobs
Lips - Butter gloss in Tres Leches from NYX
LINA :
Lina lives in everything Express so I have to assume that's where she gets most of her minimal/basic clothing. However, she has a talent for finding the cutest things at Forever 21 (like this amazing hat). And stripes. Always stripes.
You can follow her personal account (where you can see her own style) on Instagram at @goltsy and her her portrait photography at @linabphoto.
